An extensive range of rubber-moulded subsea connectivity is now available from Hydro Group, the Aberdeen-based underwater cable and connector specialist. New for 2019, the Hydro Rubber Moulded (HRM) series of subsea connectors are available in a range of combinations, sizes, and voltages. With five variants on offer – from bulkheads, attachables and inlines to overmoulds and dummy plugs – Hydro Group HRMs offer rugged performance, short installation times, and cost-effective connectivity.

Heather Andrade, Head of Sales at Hydro Group, said: “For some time now our customers have asked for an easy-to-use, relatively inexpensive connectivity solution with fast delivery times, inspiring us to bring the HRM to market. HRM connectors are available in Standard Circular (SC) and Micro Series (MC) sizes with Low Profile (LP) options available upon request. This compatibility, coupled with an operational temperature range of -4 to +60℃, ensures that HRMs are suitable for the widest possible array of seawater and freshwater applications."

Bulkheads, flanges, and panel mounts are available in a variety of high-quality materials including titanium, brass, stainless steel 316, and PEEK, allowing customers a high degree of flexibility.

HRMs can also be specified with optional threaded locking sleeves, ensuring a consistently tight connection with high-visibility sleeve colourings to aid usage.

A rubber injection-moulding process ensures that connectors are terminated without unsightly ridges/bumps, ensuring a snug and reliable connection every time. Capable of carrying up to 600 VDC depending on configuration, HRMs are rated to between 10 and 60 Amps/pin for SC configurations by default.

Each HRM benefits from a rigorous testing program at Hydro Group’s global manufacturing facility in Aberdeen, United Kingdom, to ensure its safe performance up to 600 bar of pressure.
