Relevant outside organisations
When you provide us with personal details relating to a product or service ordered from us (e.g. the sharing of a business card at an industry event, or through a data capture form on our website), we will collect this personal information for future marketing and/or order-related correspondence.
We may, on occasion, work with suppliers to help determine market trends and business opportunities, allowing us to provide the best experience for you.
Typical personal data we gather in this process includes name, profession, business address and contact details such as phone numbers and email addresses.
We will use your preferred contact details to inform you about products and services we offer and to maintain the accuracy of our records. From time to time, we may also contact customers via email marketing software to canvass their opinions on our customer service. We never have, and never will, rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses. We use email software to deliver our newsletter. Through this, we record and analyse statistics such as email open rates and clicks to help us monitor and improve our communications with you.
Hydro Group currently does not use Google analytics, however we do use AWSTATS via server control panel 'cPanel'. This information is collected for internal purposes to assess and improve website content, such as how many visitors visit the website and how they interact with it, and at what time etc. This information is anonymised and no attempt is made to identify individuals as a result of this data.
How is my data protected?
Your data is retained securely on our servers, with only the minimum amount of data stored as relevant for business purposes.
Data is regularly reviewed and maintained in proportion to the tasks it is utilised for. We make every effort to ensure that the data we share with relevant outside organisations is secure at the point of transfer and data processing.
In addition to future contact details obtained with consent, Hydro Group claims a legitimate interest to keep in touch, using their business addresses, with named individual business and corporate contacts with whom the organisation already had a relationship prior to the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation on 25 May 2018.
Articles 47 and 48 of the GDPR say that direct marketing activity is a legitimate interest in the context of a relevant and appropriate relationship between Hydro Group and the individual, with a reasonable expectation that electronic means of communication would be used for these purposes.
