Hydro Group immediately undertook a two-week facility shutdown to carry out essential deep cleaning, to reconfigure workspace distancing under the new guidelines, and review in-house working procedures. With quick action, Hydro Group currently remains open for business with a modified and re-structured manufacturing capacity on rotation and sales support. Where possible, employees that can work remotely have already made the transition, and feedback has shown that this has had a minimum impact on their ability to operate successfully. Team members that are unable to work remotely and not furloughed, continue to work whilst following the strict guidelines on social distancing at our Aberdeen facility.
Doug Whyte, MD commented … “Instructing a short facility shutdown to deep clean, make procedural changes and regroup, was one of the most difficult decisions I have faced in over 40 years of business. We take the global, national, and local COVID-19 threat very seriously. We are continuing to monitor the latest updates about the virus and are taking every action to safeguard the health and safety of our employees, whilst preserving our ability to operate during the pandemic. We have implemented many procedural changes within our teams to ensure that we comply with Government guidelines. Our team will continue to use appropriate measures and take actions necessary to ensure our ongoing operations are compliant.
Thank you for your continued support. We wish good health and safety to all our business partners, their employees and families, and the global community.
